2 Man Ladder Stands

One of my good friends gradually switched all the stands on his 100 acre farm to double ladders. At first I was not a fan, mostly because I was still hunting with a recurve bow and it seemed to clunk off one side or the other. But since switching to a compound and getting used to them, I have really grown to appreciate the extra room and space. It is nice to have my pack in the corner of the roomy seat and have my rangefinder lying right next to me. If I want to stretch out or stand up or change positons for a shot, there is much more foot room to do so. We are in the process of closing on some hunting property and one of the first things I purchased was a Big Game Guardian XLT stand. It is still in the box in the garage, but when we get all the paperwork handled (very soon I hope), I plan to get a good spot selected and the ladder up for this fall season. My nephew has a really nice Muddy double that I hunted from a few times and would consider one of them for the future as well.

I hope you have your expectations low on this one, i've got one, but it is easily the WORST stand I own, tiny platform, uncomfortable, and pretty flimsy. I'll hunt it, but, I regret the purchase.
A friend of mine has a 100 acre farm with several different ladderstands.....one of which is this model. I have hunted from it a number of times and had no issues like that whiny reviewer.....especially since he was in someone else's stand that he didn't pay for or set up. For $90, I feel it is very adequate for the task at hand.....since we just closed on the property and I didn't want to test the waters with neighbors and locations with a $400 stand. I own a LW Assault II and sticks for run and gun, a Summit Viper SI as a climber and have a Millennium and Muddy fixed for more permanent setups....so I understand good stands. However a ladder is about longterm location where I might not hunt it a bunch, but it is functional when needed for a hunt or a friend. A buddy and I just put it together yesterday afternoon and I have no regrets.

That's funny because I have this stand and I think it is the best stand we have in the woods and we must have 40 ladder stands on our lease. If that shooting rail was any higher it would hinder shots with the bow. I have never noticed any of my gear sticking to the stand. I have had it in the woods in the same spot for 7 seasons and it has held up exceptionally well. I always sit on one side and lay my other stuff out on the other seat so it is always in arms reach. I have killed many deer out of that stand...
I've hunted from my Guardian XL a couple times now and have not experienced the issues of that candy-butt reviewer either. Mine is rock solid, doesn't make a sound and was comfortable enough for my needs. By the way.....the rail pivots to the rear and completely out of the way if so desired.....which is the way I hunt from mine. There are certainly better double ladder stands and I agree it is not a cake walk to assemble this stand.....but neither was my ******* bale blind.
