I'm interested in building my second longbow. This time I intend to use osage as opposed to red oak. My plan is to build a 2 piece takedown bow using osage billets from raptor archery, and the "takedown sleeves" that I'm sure some of you have seen. My problem is that I can't find any info on building such a bow. Although I read that the Traditional Bowyers Bible vol. 3 covers takedown bows. I'm wondering if anyone has that book, and knows if it covers such topic? And/or if anyone has built a takedown bow, or knows how. And can give me some tips? Or would it be easier as a new bowyer to just make a 1 piece bow from a full size stave? And what bowyer bible would go with that?
