How come everyone seems to be shooting 2" vanes nowadays? I shoot them too but are they really better than 4" vanes. What makes them so popular? Maybe because they look cooler? Why are they so popular?

Some of them, like the Blazer, are taller and stiffer than the traditional 4" vane. This brings more drag and less "fold down" while in flight. So even though it is only 2" long, it steers better than the flimsy 4" vane.

They stick better,
they are less likely to get damaged during grouping,
less wind resistance,
lighter,
fly just as good through a well tuned bow.

I was a die hard 4 inch easton vane man, then I tried the blazer x2's for 3d and I will never go back. I use regular blazers for hunting. They work great!

mostly fad,, ive shot enough of them to know i am not switching, from 4" feathers
they work well enough for most people but frequently have contact issues with failaway rests,,
