It seems (at least where I hunt) that the elk herd gets better every year. Anyone else heading out for the opener next Saturday in Colorado? Has anyone heard how the elk herd population is doing this year in Colorado ...namely the Route National forest in North Central - North West Colorado?

This will be our 9th year in a row...can't wait - we leave Thursday.

I will be in unit 71, in the SW corner of Colorado for the Muzzle Loader season. Is anyone hunting this area during this time? This will be my seventh trip to this area. Just curious if some of us may have crossed paths in the past.

The Elk heard is doing well, a little to well  according to the DOW
I don't get up to route NF much but there there.
Get off the road and stick with the dark timber near water and sooner or later you will find them
Good luck just a few more days to go! :teeth:
