I am currently looking at buying a new bow and my local archery shop has a 2010 black ice flx for $500 bare. Is this a good deal? It has a smooth draw and shoot very nice but I am a bit nervous about buying a 6 year old bow.

You can get a better deal on a new Diamond. Not your fault the shop hasn't been able to sell it so you don't owe it to them to bail them out. I'd say $300-$325 tops.

Also, if its not in your draw length you're going to have to try and find the right draw modules and that could be a bit tough since it is six years old.

Go check out the new Diamonds at your local Gander Mountain, Dicks, Sports Academy, etc. There's some good deals that include accessories like sight, bow quiver, etc. You can get a lot of bow for $500 at one of those places.

Older thread, but for those who might encounter this later you do not have to get a new module for the FLX models. They are adjustable. Any pre-2010 Black Ice will require modules.
