I know it's early but where I work we need to start bidding on our vacation weeks for 2010. I have always taken the last week of archery off which is generally the third week in November but the last two years I feel like I am a day late to the party. How's the week of Nov. 8th sound? With my work schedule I will be off Nov. 6th thru Nov. 14th,work 15,16,17 and off 18th and 19th(last day of NY archery).

That's a good time to be off.

I usually just take most of October and November off to make sure I don't miss anything.

I'm giving up on November on my hunting grounds. The leaves drop at the end of October and the deer go underground. I'm focusing on mid-late October in 2010. November my be the magical time in other areas but not for me.

Must be nice! I get 4 weeks of vacation with which I take a week in May for turkeys and stripers and a week in November to bowhunt. Wifey gets to pick the other two.

All kidding aside usually the first two weeks of November is pretty good. If you want to get technical the week of and a few days before or after the "dark" moon of early November. NEVER EVER burn your vaction on a full moon week.

November 8-12, deer will be seeking/chasing hard. Now you just need daytime high temps to be less than 50* and you are set. Get in some funnels near doe bedding for the mornings, switch to a feeding area 2 1/2-3 hrs before dark.
