Well, I just got back this past weekend from my spring bear hunt at Grey Owl Outfitters, in Lynn Lake, Manitoba. This was my second time spending a week there. in 2016, I had a shot opportunity and blew it and had to come back. Dad and I had the time of our lives (again) and were a little more successful. The camp was beautiful, the food was amazing, the fish were biting, and the bears were everywhere. Below are a few pictures from our trip. Had a great time meeting a fellow AT'er (Brent Thei) and his son.
The week started off cold. Sunday morning, the first day of the hunt, we woke up to low 30's and snow. The first night of the hunt, I got skunked, which wasn't too bad because I was too cold to shoot anyway. The second night, things turned around and I had a boar and a sow put on a show.
When I got picked up by the guide on Tuesday night, Dad told me he got a shot on a really nice 6'6" black boar with a white blaze on his chest. The next morning, we found him 63 yards from his set!
