I’m happy to see for the first year in years the thread didn’t degrade into petty bickering as the season grinds toward the end.

The deer know the season is over. Went to get my climbing stand about 12:30 PM and 4 deer were out in the field. On the way home I saw half a dozen in one field and a couple in another.

Yep they know..
When I was leaving the farm Sunday evening with my last minute doe. There was about 20 minutes of good light left and our big field which has been pretty dead until after dark was full of deer. Atleast a dozen, 2 fully racked bucks and one of the bucks we never saw this year except twice on camera. But there he was laughing at me, I know he was!
Well now I know where he likes to be late season, who's going to be laughing next year!! Here's one of the pictures we got of him.

Surprising to me.....

1. To see how many more deer were taken by crossbow than vertical bow.
2. How much more popular the "straight walled rifle" is than shotguns now.
3. That there were over 8k more total bucks taken than does(assuming that has a lot to do with all of the out of state tags).🤷‍♂️

Probably only surprising to me due to the bubble I live in, and the people I hunt with. I think they share that same bubble with me lol.

I would imagine a large number are like me. I took a nice doe first week of October and bought another tag after. Never was able to get my target buck to shooting range. That tag still had a bitter taste.

I bought three tags this year, filled a doe tag on 10/28 and a buck tag on 11/7
The third tag is still in the freezer while I try to find the perfect recipe...

I guess I'm a fortunate man. Filled all the tags I bought. Now I did buy a couple tags for my kids so they could hunt on other farms, instead of just being able to hunt our own farm. 2 of those tags didn't get filled.

I bought 3 tags this year
Filled 1 with my buck in November and another on my doe the last day of season.
2nd yr in a row I didn't use my antlerless management tag. I just can't shoot a doe that still has young ones with her, and then if I get a pattern on a shooter buck there's no way I'm shooting a doe and possibly messing up a spot

I was fortunate to fill three tags this year all with the sr6 by mid November. Next year I believe I’ll hold on to one I really missed getting out during gun and muzzy season. Going a little stir crazy here ..why can’t it be October yet?
