I was fortunate to fill three tags this year all with the sr6 by mid November. Next year I believe I’ll hold on to one I really missed getting out during gun and muzzy season. Going a little stir crazy here ..why can’t it be October yet?
I love late season, hunting can be so frustrating that it's fun, but only us die hards would understand that. but for now I will finish getting the bassboat ready and dust off the turkey calls

I killed 3 deer in WV so I’m not in need of meat but the fact that I couldn’t get one of my shooters in Ohio to present itself for a shot was frustrating and humbling. Every time I zigged, they zagged ( I have the pics as proof) and it seemed as if everything I did was wrong. On the plus side, I’ve never had that many nice bucks on the property and I passed on a couple that I normally would have shot at in recent years.

Being a nonresident my license and 2 tags were expensive which means my tag soup was what you’d expect to get at a Michelin 5 star restaurant. But, it tastes like !!

Boat is ready and I have been passing the time tying some crappie jigs and going to start looking for some sheds and deadheads this weekend i believe.. so there is some light at the end of the tunnel. View attachment 7797812

Thanks for a great year guys. I wasn’t as involved as I would have liked to be but more so than the last few years. My wife was able to kill a buck with her bow while pregnant for the second year in a row, so that was awesome. Also, just got my buck back today. Looking forward to what 23 brings!

Thank you!

I have a relative that does a couple here and there for me. He’s retired and only does a couple a year so he can get them turned around pretty quick.

I’ve had a couple done by Bullseye Taxidermy in Medina County. He does some awesome work.

a lot of walking for one shed fellas… great day to be out though saw four bucks still holding both sides and a ton of deer and turkeys.
You found exactly one more than I did today lol. I did manage to get a stand and 2 other sets of ladder sticks down on one farm and walked for a couple hours with my GSP tho. Feels pretty good to have 25% of my farms attended to post season already and not even halfway through February. Bumped a group of 15+ deer when my GSP rushed a bedding area, so that was cool to see as well. Had to shock the chit out of her to get her from chasing them to the next county lol. Beautiful February day in the woods, and tomorrow looks even nicer!! Fly Eagles Fly, Go Birds!!

Does your shorthair like sheds? My shepherd couldn’t possibly care less about them. Tried to give him many over the years and zero interest. Old boy will kill him self chasing a frisbee though I honestly think i could run him to death if i would keep throwing the thing for him.

LOOOOOOOOVVES chewing on sheds(so do my other two pups), and frisbees too!! She’ll be 10 this summer so she doesn’t chase the frisbee like she used too, but in her prime, you couldn’t throw a disk far enough without her grabbing it in the air at full speed and jumping in the air. She looked like a wide receiver at full extension grabbing the winning td catch on their fingertips. Lol. She also has found quite a few sheds and dead heads for daddy over the years. The older she gets, the less she gives a F about finding them, she rather just roam around, but I guess it is what it is. Still daddy’s girl, and her spirit is way younger than her body.

Beautiful pup and deer. Mines the same way with the frisbee at least he’s made some incredible catches over the years even has had some backflips in there lol. He’s been a hell of a good dog and I might be stuck on German shepherds after having him. Hates cats, squirrels, and baths in that order.

Beaut!! That’s the same order of our 3 girls too, other than when my mom passed and we took in one of her cats. That cat literally walked in and owned the place from day one, and all 3 dogs respected him. He did whatever he wanted and even made best friends with my GSP. Was the craziest thing I’d ever seen lol. Other neighborhood cats have not been given the same respect in our yard.

(notice how Bugsy even pointed out where to shoot the deer? Lol)

I had one this season walk right by my stand carrying a squirrel in it’s mouth. I have no desire to kill one, it’s pretty cool just having encounters like that every once in awhile.
Out my way cats can bring over a thousand dollars apiece. We don't let them walk

Not sure if anyone is still following along to this thread or not, but just thought I’d share what I picked up today, for those of us who keep these threads active for 2 years at a time. Lol. Raber’s knocked another one out of the park for me and couldn’t be happier. I’ve paid much more for less quality.

This was the buck I was after this year. He didn't score much but he was at least 5 years old. My bro in law found him dead. Got a tag for him and did the euro myself.
