I have had the matthews Triax since it came out and loved it but its now time for me to get a new bow. Does anyone have any insight on when Mathews and Hoyt will be releasing as these are my target brands this year. Thanks to all who answer with any news!

Mathews will drop first part of November (what the Mathews dealer told me) nothing new except a color this year and some features. No axle-to-axle lengths, no new cams, nothing major is what they said. But the color will be cool 😂.

Magnesium risers are nothing new, most of the 80's bows had them. The Hoyt Charger had this, and people knocked it for having that type of metal. Magnesium is fine, but it isn't as strong as aluminum, and the shavings from it will burn easily, even better if you put water on it. Water on a mag. fire is just like gasoline. If it isn't made correctly, it does have a tendency to break, I know from personal experience.

PSEs longer carbons have been about the only thing to really grab my attention so far. Darton's tuning looks nice, the rest of that bow is kind of bleh. Elite still forces you to have black limbs, Nice they finally added integrated rest and sight options. Then they leave those off of the "new" carbon.

I like Bowtech, but I struggle with the whole Athens/copyright mess....the end result only took away another good choice from shooters. From what I've read about the designs, while SIMILAR, they were not identical. Athens just didnt have enough in the bank to fight the lawsuit so they closed up shop....and its unfortunate.

I went from Bear, to Hoyt, to Elite (which I LOVED), to Prime. The Prime caught me by surprise after shooting it, Hoyt, Mathews, PSE, Elite, & Bowtech flagship models all SxS. It won me over fairly quickly and came down the the Ethos, RVX/Revex 4, & Evolve 33....the Prime just walked away from the others....it FELT right & chose me honestly. I wish my local dealer had Darton.....i had to drive an hour to try one last week, I shot the 33 & RVX4 back to back.....i just cant choose between the two....
the RVX is freggin sweet. One of the best drawing bows Ive felt in a while.

I feel like Hoyt really needs to do something this year. Last year they had good bows but I never really saw a lot of people talking about them.

Of course a lot of the mathews talk was negative but still

It looks like Darton is still stealing the show. Just waiting to see what Hoyt and Bowtech does. I am a fan of five of the brands, with Bowtech being #1 for me, with Prime being #2 and now Darton being #3, and Elite at #4, just wish they put the new cams on the Exault 35. I also like Hoyt to some degree, despite me not being able to shoot their bows all that great, especially the short axle-axle bows. Fred Bear bows also make the honorable mention list, because of their lower and mid-range bows offering a lot for what you pay for. Besides that, none of them do anything for me, and in my PERSONAL opinion, are not worth looking at

I can't disclose my source, but I finally have it on good authority that all-American bow builders Mathews and PSE have agreed to a collaborative effort to build the first carbon fiber risered Mathews! 😮

Sounds like it's going to be called the AirLift, employing a DFC riser and Switchweight X cams with specs similar to the 2020 PSE Mach 1,; 3.5 lbs and 345 ibo; dead quiet and dead in hand. I can't wait to get my hands on it!

Chances are the Core SR will still be in the line. Bowtech usually keeps a model for 2 years. So the SR and SS should still be there. My guess will be the "Honor" bow, but as a standard offering rather than the exclusive kit, and then a CP30 and SS34 replacement in the "Core" series.

It's sad when keyboard warriors make definitive statements about a subject they are ignorant of. Do some research. Magnesium is not what it used to be.

OTOH I would not want a lightweight bow unless I was only using in inside 35-40 yards. They are less accurate. Same reason an ultralight hunting rifle is not a good choice for long range hunting.
