Everyone feel free to join in on the conversation.

Looking forward to this year and getting back out to North Central Kansas.

Haven't seen any velvet cracking here yet, but I've got to believe that it's close. Had two new young bucks show up recently. One of the young ones has broken the end of his beam The other has to me what appears to be particularly long velvet fibers. I just like the color on the last pic.

Agree with you on that last pic; after years of drought, the green is so very nice to see.

Well, the buck that I thought might be hard horn over night has not shed any more than showing two antler tips through pealing velvet. Saw him this morning in low light and the velvet is still cracked on the main beams. I did see the first hard horn Saturday morning, but too dark so no pics. All others that I've seen in the last few days are still in full velvet. We mowed a lot of pasture behind the house a few days ago and so far the deer aren't too happy about it. Yesterday morning in good camera light I watched two older bucks dash from cover on one side of the pasture to the cover on the other side. They're missing the cover that the tall grass and weeds provided and, aside from the fact that they didn't stop for pictures, I'm already missing the green backdrop.

Picked this guy up finally. I was hoping he made it through. He’s got a deformed bottom jaw and his tongue is always sticking out lol. I’m not sure how he eats but he seems to be thriving. Been watching him for a few years and I was hoping he would blow up into a freak but I don’t think it’s in the cards. Probably will get a pass this year as he’s only 4.5, unless he walks past my son. Here he is at 2.5, 3.5, and now 4.5. Pretty cool
