Mainly because there. Is a very small market for them. Usually a 300 spine will work for most with your specs.

 

I shoot about the same draw and poundage but with a 175 gr. broadhead, and get great arrow flight all the way down to, and including, the 340 spine range shafts.
That's about the edge though and that's with a PERFECTLY tuned, long ATA bow with smooth cams, and pretty solid form on my part.

 

It's not a big seller for shops so why carry a large selection. Not a huge demand so manufacturer's don't produce a ton of options. I'ld guess 80 plus percent of archers shoot 330 to 400 spine arrows. I use South shore archery to build my arrows and he has a nice selection of 250 and 260 spined arrows. Builds them better than any local shop or me for that matter.

You can find them online at Lancasters, Amazon, and ebay. That is if you want to build them build them yourself. Sometimes you can them already fletched but they still need to be cut to length. Or you can go with an custom arrow builder. Most shops don't carry a spine that high.

I'm also 30.5" 68 lbs CT5 I shoot a 300 spine 200 grains upfront, and out of my 80lber I shoot 250 spine arrows with 156 grains up front and arrows 29-29.5" long.

Black eagle rampage has nice 250 spine arrows

 

Those are the ones I was looking at. I know alot of people say 300 or so work. But the last thing i want is to be under spined out of a bow that's ibo is 350. That's alot of energy and a long arrow length.
Let me raise a second question, how close to your rest do you cut your arrows? I know this could effect the spine as well.

I have tested the Black eagles and the Easton Hexx, the Easton has a lot better tolerances, and shot better for me. It is lighter and you can build a higher FOC arrow with the Hexx due to it's light weight. But they cost $10 more.

 

VAP has them readily available. Seller on ebay I get my VAPs from has them from $70-$120 dozen depending on grade.

 

Victory arrows! IMHO I won't gain anything by gushing about them. BUT. HOLY POOP, they are amazing! The range of shift diameters, spine weights, and use parameters is ideal.

The Xtorsion arrow has 2 layers a Stainless Steel mesh into the carbon layers, like the layers of plywood, at 12gpi with light SS outserts!! Such a good arrow, and they come spine aligned from the factory!!!!

I'll never shoot FMJs again! Though I am putting the HIT inserts into the RIP arrow from Victory, frankenrows :wink:

 

Gold Tip Hunter xt 250s are some great arrows. Never had any trouble finding them.

 

I've got a 75# vertix with a 29.5 draw coming my way. I was gonna get the kinetic pierce arrows in a 250(strictly for hunting) spine. Some of you fella's think a 300 spine would be better for that setup?

I'ld go 250 Spine, easier to play with tip weight and front of center probably easier to tune but I like stiff arrows with fixed heads.

Firenock accuweave 250 spine 11gpi $159 doz. I believe haven't shot them but they do interest me 11gpi they claim there tuff who knows good luck

 

First range trials last Saturday with my GT Hunter 300's with 125gr up front. Arrow flight looked good. May pick up 2-3 XT 250s for comparison. My bow specs: Bowtech BTX 31 at 31" DL, 71#, arrows cut to 30".

 

Easton 5MM Axis and 6MM Hexx both come in a 260 spine.

Think the Easton bloodline comes in a .240 spine. Black eagle has plenty of options from .250-.200 spine. Gold tip is another brand that makes plenty of .250 shafts and .200 spines also. I’m a 32” draw pulling 72#’s so I am always looking for the stiffer spine arrows. I have tried black eagle carnivores and Spartans. Both good arrows. Looking at trying the 5mm axis this year maybe. Local shop carries them.

My vertix has 75/30 mods and I got perfect paper tuning with both FMJ 300s and Black Eagle rampage 250s. Both have 125 field points. Time will tell which tune better out to a distance.

As others have shown, there’s a decent amount of 250 out there you just have to comb through a few sites sometimes to find them available.

Daysix arrows is another brand to check out. I like the specs just wish it was easier to get them to Canada without all the shipping and brokerage fees.

Gold Tip Kintetic 200's with their Traditional 400 series stainless half-out would be a good choice as well. Small diameter but still standard threads, tough, great FOC. Lancaster Archery has them. I made these up last year for a buddy and he shoots lights out with that setup. Heavy hitter, can't hardly stop em.

 

What do you consider a reasonable price?

That's a good question, I am so used to getting good 350 even 400 spine arrows for 4 or 5 dollars a arrow. Paying 12 dollars per arrow seems hard to do.

I’ve been looking at the new Airstrikes by Gold Tip for 250 spines. Are those considered an outsert?

 

I found it best to order them and build them yourself. Very satisfying as well

 

The Easton Hex 260 is not a cheap arrow but is an unbelievable arrow, I've had good luck with black eagle arrows too. The Hexx is just a phenomenal arrow. The 260 spine is only 9.3 gpi, and super consistent and accurate. The 330 spine is 7.9 gpi, I know I wish they would come out with a 290-300 spine in the 8.5-8.7 gpi range, I've got another bow and setup that needs that one!

 

Everything has gone up, look at bow prices!

Arrows are no different, companies are getting larger, there are very few mom and pop type manufactures anymore so if you want a good arrow it is going to cost you more.

I have fletched arrows professionally now for about 16 years and I can tell you without a doubt if you want the best value for you $$ go with black eagle

The spartan arrow is their best arrow, it is very durable, it has a stainless nock bushing and stainless insert and the specs are extremely tight. The carnivore is a very consistent arrow but not as durable, the x impact is a micro, extremely consistent and very durable.

Slightly cheaper and actually fairly good is Easton Axis Pros, I have been finding them very tight on specs and extremely durable. The Easton Hexx is also very good but not as durable
