I was in my stand yesterday evening and a doe came 25 yards broad side of me so I waited to see if anyone was following her and sure enough this 150 class huge bodied buck was so I prepared for a shot , meanwhile a smaller 130 buck came out but was chased out by the bigger one and he then continued to follow the doe . After what seemed like forever I let a arrow fly at 45 yards I got half the arrow in him. Using bloodrunner tip and it looked like 4 inches back from being a perfect heart shot . So I called my bro and told him we found bright red blood, no bubbles or nasty smell. After 200 yards we found my arrow with nocturnal lit . Went another 150 yards and came out to the only water hole around here for miles do to recent drought . How much blood can this damn thing have left to spill , cause I'm running out of blood trail and I have a feeling he's right around this pond and thick cover laying dead but can't find him . any suggestions, I hope I can find him . I'm headed back out now to try again.

well if you have some help.. just go to the last spot of blood you found and mark it so you can come back to it.. I would then start a spiral search widening your circle each time until you find more blood or find him..

My brother hit one yesterday morning around 8am and we jumped him once and he made to posted property. The land owner took him over to track it at 4pm they jumped it and then left it .They met up this morning at 8am and the deer was still alive but was able to finish him off. With the amount of blood that I saw I would have sworn he wouldnt have made it the night.Dont give up.

Yes there are large splotches of blood that seem to be like he walks and stops and bleeds while he is just standing there. I think the coyotes are pushing him more than me. There is only been maybe 20 yards out of 800 that have no blood.

I am east of the metro area and could definitely use the help, thanks so much for your offer , I could pay your gas or whatever. I just hate to lose this one, he's the biggest one I've seen and shot out here

Good luck.I've seen liver hit deer travel a long distance if they have been bumped.A one lung hit can do the same. All you can do is keep looking.
