Hey, have any of you had a chance to own or shoot one of 3 Rivers Archery's new Oberon longbows or recurves. They look nice. I'm tempted to grab one (of each).
If you've checked them out, let me know what you think.

Well here it is! Its a little over cast so its difficult to get good pictures, but it is definitely beautiful. Hoping to get by the shop tomorrow so they can tie a nock on for me and I can really see how she shoots. First impressions are definitely good though. Everything looks nice and tight and well made, it's super light. Unstrung the balance seems to tilt towards you at the top. The grip is really comfortable and easy for your hand to fall into the right angle. I also really like that they used a matte finish as opposed to a high sheen. Thats what I know so far.

Ok, got everything set up and was able to get 50 or so arrows through the bow while my toddler napped. I'm a relatively new archer, but I really enjoyed this bow. It does seem to be easier to be consistent and accurate than my cheaper recurve. I've got the brace height set at about 7.5", it feels/sounds pretty good there and the arrows hit the target fast and hard. I do feel like I maybe have to grip the bow just slightly more firmly that I usually do, I'm thinking possibly because of how light it is. He ordered a 35# model and I could shoot it all day. If you have any specific questions let me know and I'll try to answer them. I'm gonna attach a few pics of my groupings at 20yds.

Very nice run through on your new bow. More need to do that. Good advise also on the 25 lb starter bow. I just got back to shooting after a few years off due to injury. This time I started with a 25 lb ilf recurve. Wish I would have done it when I was a kid. We bought the biggest monster we could pull back. Never really did learn good form. I am a much better archer now than I was then thanks to starting light. Have fun and thanks for the show.

It's my first time trying to describe a bow, so I'm glad I was able to hit all the points. I started with a 40lb recurve in December, which I could shoot fine but I started having some pain in my bow arm rotator cuff after a couple weeks. I got some 25lb limbs and used those up until getting this 35lb longbow. No shoulder issues so far. The 25lbs definitely helped me get better alignment and really be able to feel what a full draw is.

JUST HAD HERNIA SURGER THIS PAST WEEK
I AM ON THE DO NOT DRAW ANY BOW FOR 3-4 WEEKS LIST AND I AM GOING NUTS
ONLY OBTAINED A 32# TARGET BOW 2 WEEKS AGO AND WAS HAVING A BLAST SHOOTING IT AT LOCAL ARCHERY SHOP AND JUST ABOUT HAD MY BACKYARD RANGE READY TO GO WHEN A MISHAP RIPPED A STOMACH MUSCLE.
OFF TO SURGERY AND LOTS OF DOWN TIME.
BUT WHEN I GET RELEASED I AM HOPING TO HAVE THE LB IN HAND AND SET TO GO.

I ended up getting the 45# oberon longbow because they don't have a 45 or 50# recurve right now, I love this long bow, I've shot at least 300 arrows and it pulls to full draw smooth and has good speed for a long bow. I feel I could be shooting a 50lb just as easy because of the limbs. my other longbow feal harsh compared to this bow
