What advantages are there to a 4-fletched arrow?

If I have vanes I don't like, I 4 fletch buddies arrows.

I pose this question to you now. Why don't we shoot bareshafts at targets?

Troll or not, I'll share what I've experienced. IMO, 3 vs 4 you'd never know the difference. I'll take a 3 with better helical than a 4 all day long. Especially at reasonable distances...say 40 yards and in. If you need more stabilization, try to get as much helical out of your jig and be done with it. It that doesn't work, you have bigger issues than whether it's 3 or 4.
