A GOOD Android SD Card Reader

I know this has been brought up many of times, but I couldn't find an answer I was happy with, so I thought I'd try again. Is there a highly recommended sd card reader for android phones?

I've tried a couple cheap ones. While they all loaded pictures, I had to open & close pictures one-by-one to view them. I couldn't just swipe from one to the next. Took forever. I've looked a couple times at BoneView, but the few reviews out there about the reader deleting weeks/months of pictures has turned me away. Has anyone ram across this? Or any recommendations? My big thing is just being able to swipe from one picture to the next so I can easily get through 2-3000 pictures & be able to save certain ones to my phone...that's it. Thanks

I think you need to reread his original post, it's pretty clear what he's asking. I've had the same frustration. I'm not sure if it's the SD card reader that is the problem or how the phone reads the info. I'm wondering if there is an app that could be used in conjunction with the card reader so you'd have the ability to just swipe from picture to picture to get through them quickly. I have three different readers and they are all the same, you have to open a picture to view it and then close it and open another one. I average about 1500 pictures on my camera each time I check them. That is not an efficient way to view pictures in the field in my opinion. Hopefully someone has a solution.

I've been using the BoneView for my iPhone for about a month now and haven't had any problems with it deleting pics. I'll go through them quick while out at the camera, and copy them to my phones photo album or dropbox. I check my camera quite frequently, i'd say every 3-4 days, so I only upload 100+ pics or 20+ videos, so its not as many as most people.

Ok. I get it now. It said nothing about checking trail cams in original post, just said sd card reader for android phones. You are trying to check a sd card from a trail cam and view it on your android. Your phone should take a micro sd card. Why not just get a micro sd to regular sd card adapter for your trail cam, then when you go to check trail cam, just remove the micro sd card and put in your android phone. Then you should be able to view all pics I think, but I don't know I don't have a smartphone. Just an idea. Here is a link to the adapter. https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-micr...=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1469394827&sr=8-1&keywords=micro+sd+card+to+sd+card+adapter

If that doesn't work, just carry a digital camera to view pics or a laptop, or switch sd cards and look on a computer later.

You may need to download an app to do what you want depending on your device... I have a standard micro-usb card reader I got from Amazon and I use Nexus Media Importer to view on my Nexus 9 tablet...

honestly for me, I just swap the cards and do it all at home on my laptop now... it's not worth the hassle and time sitting there going thru pics on a screen that doesn't handle being in ambient light well.

I bought a card reader off Amazon that plugs into the micro USB port that works great. Just turn your phone on, plug in the reader, wait a few seconds and a page with 3 folders pops up. Select the DCIM folder and all the thumbnail pics appear. Tap on the first one and just swipe thru them. I also use the QuickPic app sometimes. It work the same way. I have a Samsung S5.

I just downloaded QuickPic photo viewer for my phone and it works awesome. You just open the app and plug in the sd card reader and select it and you can swipe right through the pics. Works awesome...this will make looking at the pics in my tree stand a lot easier.

Yes I got the Stealth Cam SD card reader for my iPhone and it works great. I can pull up the folder with the pics files then click on one then I can swipe through them all without closing the others. They have one for android as well. The key is the fie manager software. The one that works with the stealth cam reader works great.

PS I don't have any stealth cams they will work with whatever as long as its SD

Have you tried the Whitetail'R PhoneREAD'R. They are fairly cheap, I think mine was $18. It plugs right into my galaxys3 and I can see photos from both a regular SD card, Micro SD, and USB. Unfortunately you cant swipe through the pictures but it does come up with small pics in a list so you can scroll down them fast to see if there are any good pics. I use it for a quick reference and if there's a good buck on it, then I save it to my phone. Anything else, I use my computer.

I've got a couple card readers and both of them work as far as loading pictures from an SD card to my phone. The problem I have with them is scrolling through pictures. I absolutely hate having to open and close files individually. My phone also displays multiple pictures as larger thumbnails, but it is hard to really see pictures in good detail. So many times especially when bucks are in Bachelor groups, there are nice bucks hanging back in the picture that you just cannot see in a small thumbnail preview.

This morning I downloaded the gallery viewer that Griz recommended a few posts back. I will try that tonight.

Update....the QuickPic app recommended above solved all my problems. As I said before, my current cheap China made readers always did work for getting my pics to my phone, but my phone's default gallery viewer forced me to open one at a time. After I installed the app above and replaced my default gallery viewer, this app allows me to swipe from one pic to the next & get through pictures in a fraction of the time. Thanks Griz
