for the new guys just getting into bowfishing... I'm sure you have heard "aim low". heres why. I was at the zoo this past weekend and thought this would be the perfect pic to prove a point. It clearly shows the effect of light refraction in water. In the pic, it appers there's two "rings" under the water. One looks to be about 3 foot under, the other is closer to 12. In actuality, there is only one...the lower one. the upper is an optical illusion. this is why when we miss, we shoot over our target. The deeper it is, the greater the effect of refraction.
