I have the platinums on my trx 34. I’ve shot them all season. I’d estimate some where around 1000 times. I like them a lot
, I have nothing else to compare them to though. I have the ABB premium on my vxr. Admittedly I can’t tell the difference.

Hey guys I was wondering what you all thought of the abb platinums anything better for the price? Or what has your experience been with them?
not worth the price IMO

here is a comparison taken straight from the websites of A3, Rogue, and ABB

A3 Archery

Best in the industry materials

  • BCY 452X - this material is the gold standard and what all other materials are compared to.
  • Bloodline Fiber Technology - VEC-99 is a next generation material utilizing a proprietary coating that makes the material wax-less and abrasion resistant resulting in a material that does not fuzz up and looks amazing all the time
  • Halo Serving Material - all end loops and end servings
  • Powergrip Center Serving - grips tight and serves rounder than any other material making it the superior choice.

Technique and Process
All Bowstrings go through a multi stage and unique tensioning process - We call this Pre-Shot Cycle Technology the better alternative to "Stretching"

  • Pre-Cycle Tensioning stabilizes the fibers and bundle using a series of tensioning and relaxing at set intervals
  • Serving Jig Tension - we use only the best Beiter Jigs and each jig is digitally scaled before each use to assure that we build consistency set to set.
  • Serving - the bowstring is tensioned at 500lbs of positive tension while the serving is applied - this assures that there is no string material twisting underneath the serving that could cause issues.
  • Once the bowstrings are built they go through a very unique tensioning process That Cycles the String in an automated process; what we find is this combination creates a string set that does not require a shoot in period, and is more consistent and stable. "Stretching" as most other string companies advertise is not as effective and over stretching actually damages the fibers in the string.

1 year warranty against peep rotation or serving seperation

Vec 99 2/3 piece set with the discount code Bolick15 is $101
BCY 452 X 2/3 piece set with the discount code is $92

R21
they don't say anything about the build process of the R21, just that they have a propriety blend
R21Pro :

Our proprietary blend of custom fiber offers an improved launch and unmatched arrow speed. It is constructed of material only developed and available exclusively to ROGUE.

$199.99

ABB Platinum

  • Made exclusively with BCY 452X material
  • Improved for 2020 - Clear Ultra End Loops for a better fit
  • Halo End Servings for longer life
  • Power Grip Center Serving for the best fit
  • 2 Year Hassle Free Warranty against peep rotation, creep, and serving separation

  • Faster Arrow Speeds
  • Optimum Performance
$170

ABB and Rogue don't specifically lay out the details of the build process like A3 does, but there is nothing special about their strings IMO. You could argue that Rogue has the "propriety" material but this fancy material boasts that it is resistant to fuzzing and has high tensile strength (hmmm sounds almost exactly like bloodline VEC 99).

My Abb were fine, just a little peep rotation. Both sets of Catfish Custom bow strings I have were even better and under $100. My Abb set only took about a week for delivery and the Catfish took about 2. I will probably only order Catfish Customs from now on.

Got a set on my new TRX 34 coming will find out for sure. I have a set from First String that are excellent and have not moved since installation from factory.

I’ve only run 1 set of ABB platinum and they were solid. Didn’t seem like a long break in period. My cams however, are kinda harder on the serving but it’s not an ABB issue. All that to say it’s a trial and error for me with string brands given how my cams wear the string.
