UPDATE: Best to user super glue, holds great and less time, just remember that it's pressure activated so press down good for a few seconds.

I love the SKB 4318 case, but I needed more straps to store my stabilizers and range finder and future limb legs.
There's plenty of extra storage space in the case for extra connections you just want to be sure it all clears the bow when the case is shut. For example, the straps for the range finder had to place the range finder more towards the arrow area so that my sight clears it when the bow is in.

Supplies were cheap (on Amazon) and you get more than you'll probably ever use in your lifetime:
Supplies (links below)
  • Velcro straps and buckles = $8.99 (40ft straps and 60buckles, used prob 2ft)
  • Elastic band = $9.99 (10yrds black, 10yrds white, used 6" of the black)
  • DAP Weldwood Contact Cement small tube (used 1/4 of tube if that). This has way less smell than the metal container type. The tube stuff didn't stink the room up at all.
  • Update: Use super glue instead.

Disclamers regarding the adhesive:
  • I was going to try 3M 77, but since it's spray I decided to opt for the Weldwood tube contact cement.
  • Follow the directions, shake the tube well, place glue on the case and the strap, wait at least 15min (or longer if it doesn't looked glazed and not tacky), I recommend at least 30min (I believe the directions say max 2hrs). Then stick glued pieces together and put pressure while sliding inside to out to make sure to remove any bubbles.
  • From what I've gathered SKB uses Polyethylene foam. The contact cement says not to use for polystyrene foam (Styrofoam), so figured would be safe.
  • Overall the glue didn't melt the foam, just my beginning 3 strips I used to glue the elastic strap. I believe this is because I possibly didn't shake the tube enough. I used a ton more glue for the velcro straps and there was ZERO foam meltage.
  • I let it cure for 24 hours before I tested the straps out to take these pictures, but removed everything so it can cure for 72 hours. So far it all seems to be holding fine, but can let you know more after the 72 hours.

UPDATE: They did hold up great, but I pulled hard on one to test and it did pull away from the case. I didn't like that even though that type of pressure would never be used on the strap, so I went and used super glue and much better hold.

They're holding up well. I haven't banged my case around crazy, just normal travel and storing upright position, but all the straps seem to be holding just fine.
I do want to mention that there are a few of the spots where I connected the straps where you can feel just a slight dip from the foam reacting to the contact cement, but its a very small indentation and part of that could be me pressing down with my finger because the impression left is same shape/size of my finger pad. It didn't happen for every glue spot and there seems to be no relation to the amount of glue used. I also want to point out that my SKB case has fabric over the foam so that may be helping the glue grab, I haven't tried it directly to foam which may be the situation for your Pelican Vault 730 case so you'll want to test on a scrap piece first and test if gluing velcro side down or smooth side down yields better results.

I still have a ton of material left so if you want me to send you some just PM me your address and how much you think you'll need and I'll get it sent off to you.

UPDATE: See above updates.
So after using the case some more and banging it around on regular basis, all the straps are holding great except for one is pulling away from the case slightly, the velcro strap holding the front of the stabilizers (the weighted ends) pulled away a little from the case, it's still holding and not sure if it will pull away any more. The elastic side (back of the stabilizers) and all other velcro straps are holding great without pulling away.
If by chance that the strap holding the weighted ends of the stabilizers pulls away any more I may reglue but use the velcro side on the glue side and not the smooth side so the glue has more to adhere to or I just may put Elastic for that end too, just because it will be faster to load the stabilizers in the case.
