Adjusting the limb bolts

570 6
Got a newbie question.
My 60 lb bow is set up at 60 lbs. The limb bolts are not tightened all the way down. If I tighten the bolts all the way down to get a little more poundage out of the bow is it okay to do this with the limbs preloaded as is? Or do I need to put the bow in a press and take the preload off the limbs before I tighten the bolts down?

What bow is it?

Some bows you should not tighten all the way down.

X-force girl is correct. For instance, on page 11 of the 2011 PSE owners manual, the recommendation is that a minimum of 4mm be maintained with the vibration damper limb pockets. Just another reason to find a good pro shop. Good luck.

I have a Darton DS-3800 28" DL with 60lb limbs. I was told they typically ship backed out around 1 full turn (approx. 1/16" gap). Dartons 60 lb limbs average around 64 lbs. Supposedly where the limbs are currently set are around 61 lbs.
