haha if memory serves me correctly, there used to be a stand just like that one and if so he is using it correctly. the foot piece was very small and the top piece not much bigger. I guess they were trying to keep the weight down. I'd never climb a tree with one I can tell ya that.

I used to have one like that. It a Buckshot convertible and wasn't as bad as it looks. The back rest has been removed on that one. You could flip the back rest up against the tree and sit on it with your feet where he is sitting in the pic or you could just face the tree. With a decent cushion and facing the tree it was actually pretty comfortable. Much better for gun hunting.
