Saw a news story the other day, "America buying back America", thought it was great. :thumbs_up
For example, New Balance shoes are the ONLY Running shoes company that lose $$ each and every year as they strive in being "Made in the USA". Currently, only about 30% of the New Balance shoes are made in the USA but the CEOs goal is to be 100% in the future.

I have ALWAYS been a firm supporter of this great country of ours, and not just from the military side of the house. When I ojined the Army many moons ago, I reemeber the Army PX catering to Made In America items, no longer do you see those banners or advertisements, not even on my Army base stores :embara: .
Many people ask what can I do for my country?
Well start by supporting the U.S.A the easiest way you can.......you might have to pay a dollar more when shopping but try to support more American made products.
Granted sometimes you have to refer to imports, I know, some things just cannot be made in America with great quality yet. Heck, now days Toyota's are made and manufactured right here in the U.S.A:wink:
In my life I have learned to give up Levi's (Made in Mexico now even with a lil US tag on em) and Nike shoes.

Here are some interesting websites I came across:

made in america

I am very proud to say that I work for a company that proudly displays the made in america sticker on it. Telpro Inc. We are a major manufacturing compmany which makes light const. equip. Such as the panellift, which is a sheetrock jack, and the Tower, which is an adjustable scaffold unit which will fit through most door ways, and raise up to 20 some feet without adding any extensions, its comparable to a sisor lift. So if you are a do it your selfor type person, please think of our company Telpro Inc. and our many great products that you can rent or buy at many outlets

thanks for sharing, xmac..........

Neat website and very ingenious tools.
That Tele-Tower would make a heck of a shooting platform when not using it for construction as well

One thing that actully torgued me was "Support Our Troops" magnet/stickers are made in China

So I am having the local sign guy cut me some of my own made in Texas Support stickers.

I am with you. I went one day all over town looking for a new hammer and want my tools made in the USA... it took me 4 stops. Had one store tell me..."it'll cost you more" I replied... I didn't care what it cost I want it made in America. It can be a pain but I will refuse to buy something and wait until I can find it hecho en USA. I have even been called a "dork, weird, etc" for being stubborn about the "made in USA" tag

Thanks for the links mdewitt71 !

I've been using usstuff.com for a while now. If the sheeple of this country really want to "buy back" America then they'll have to pay just a little bit more for what they want. I don't mind doing this. I'm not wealthy and life at times is a struggle but this is a necessary thing to do.

Take a look around your house, and the clothes you are wearing. Every time you see "Made in China" or "Hencho en Mexico" that tag represents one American citizen who is unemployed or homeless because of YOUR actions.

THINK BEFORE YOU BUY.

no prob.......hopefully more and more people will start using the "THINK BEFORE YOU BUY" mentality like you mentioned, MrTwigg
I know its almost impossible to get everything from the United States, for example I buy ALOT of Shimano products for biking and fishing, but I would definately change brands if there was a USA alternative.

I am with you on bike parts..it's tough. I found a last years model SOMA made in CA and I used to run only Rockshox but they sold out to SRAM which I believe is a German Co and are now made overseas. There are some specialty parts out there but it's getting tough.

It's not too hard to by a lot of USA product but the one thing I always hear..."I can get Y brand (not USA made) cheaper". IE Red Wing boots are the only brand I buy for they have models only made in the USA. They are higher but they last forever (and I make boots cry)...most people refuse to buy them because of the cost.

I just checked with SRAM/Rockshox for ya...they are made over the big blue  .

That's what I love about archery and shooting sports...a lot of the equipment is US manufactured. Remember..don't complain about the cost or they will eventually ship the work out.
