Any info on this old Recurve?

Hey all,
My Dad has this old recurve and I'm trying to learn a little about it. The following is marked on it in black ink:


58" a-2-14657 AMD 45 pound 28"


He says he thinks it was made by Bear, but we really don't know. I'd like to get a new string for it and try it out!

Any help is greatly appreciated...

Should be 58" A.M.O. so you'll need a string which is actually 3 -4" shorter, but should also be labeled as 58".

Also get yourself a bow stringer if you don't have one.

Weigh the bow at your draw length to figure out needed dynamic arrow spine.
