[crooked stick]

I have a couple Axis arrows that have small splits from the nocks being hit and since I have a little room to spare I was going to cut about a half inch off the nock end to get past the split and then move my vanes down arrordingly. Had a guy tell me I shouldn't do this but he couldn't tell me why, just that he had heard this shouldn't be done. I can't think of any reason why I shouldn't do this. Am I missing something here or is this fella mistaken?

the only reason i can think of is he might of been told not to cut down the tip end with the hidden insert in it :darkbeer: shouldent be any reason not to repair the fletch end

I don't see any reason not to either. I had a couple that were the same way, cut them down and geve them to my buddy that shoots the same arrows only 1" shorter. Worked perfect.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not sure what he was thinking of, but he must have been confusing this with something else, maybe the insert end as stated. I'm gonna whack'em and shoot'em!
