I want to shoot a Merriam turkey real bad, don't know where to go. NO outfitter, Treespass fee or public land only. South Dakota, Nebraska, North Dakota, OR????????????

How can I get more info on where this public ground is? Is it all one piece? You guys do have spring hunts? Thanks

Yes it is all one piece in western SD. It is National Forest Service land. Yes there are spring hunts. You can actually get two two tags. Archery tag is good statewide. Black Hills tag is good only in the National Forest Service and you can use archery equip or shotgun. Tags are $85 each and both are unlimited in that no application needed, can just buy them on line. Link to Black Hills National Forest. http://www.fs.usda.gov/blackhills
