I realized most are using hinge with some using thumb but are there any top pros using wrist strap type release at the professional level during competition?

This is not to say that wrist strap releases are less accurate. Just curious.

Yep. Dietmar won Vegas and Tim Gillingham won SoCal last year with their wrist strap type releases.

Michael Braden had won multiple national titles with an index finger trigger, As has Jack Wallace.

Watch this shooter from France, competing for bronze in the World championships. If you look at his form and shot execution, you would say he's doing everything wrong, yet he is there and competing for bronze. He shoots a wrist strap and punches it with pretty good results.

The moral of this story is that we are all different and have to do what works for us. I cant imagine there is an Archery coach that would endorse this shooters technique.
