The KC Star ran a story a few days back. The police snipers kill something like 300 of them. Archers we're harvesting more as well. There was a guy on here who said he was one of the people coordinating the bow hunting.
When I checked into it several months ago. Few things turned me off. Those in there don't get to keep the meat. Which is fine, it's all be donated to local soup kitchens and such. You have to use your own equipment, of course. You have to pass an archery test. Which makes sense I suppose. And basically, you aren't "reimbursed" what-so-ever. They don't pay you for your time, broken arrows. etc. And, of course, it was doe only.
I saw no real reason I should take time out of my personal hunting time, to kill does. JMO.
Again, see Kansascity.com and do a search. You'll find some articles that will fill you in.
