Most in my area that have done this very much see improvement.
Might check if it voids your warranty.
epsayo3 said:i was thinking about the apex cam swap with my apex 7, i called mathews technical supprt and asked about it, the guy told me a different story, he said, specific cam for specific model only since some issues with bow speed and draw weight will be affected, so i decided to stick to my apex 7 cam and since i got it there is no string serving issues....just my experience...good luck!
warranty is also important for me...![]()
TexasGuy said:Gotta take that with a grain of salt, my friend.....that is pretty much the standard answer you will get from ALL bow companies techs.....too many people have inter-changed parts on too many different bows VERY successfully for that to be true......
The warranty-issue IS a problem, however......it would definitely be voided....
i totally agree, what works for me may not work with others...Daniel Boone said:I have sold a few bows for pros and most them have been tweak some way or another. Just the nature of a pro.
I just couldnt live with serving wear on buss cable. Apex7 is the best I ever shot.
I actually sold mine and found about this fix later. I purchased another one and promblem solved and shooting lights out.
Sometimes its a matter of finding what works for you.
Has won everthing in senior pro with his. He has had no serving promblems with his cam. Bow is a proven winner. When guy wins Vegas, Indoor nationals, and pittsburgh. I say he has the right bow in his hand in pro ranks.epsayo3 said:i totally agree, what works for me may not work with others...
Never shot the stock strings.Nito said:is there any "conversion chart" for Apex cams on the A7?
does the serving problems dissappear with other strings?
i have had some problems with servings on both of my Apex's, but Bucknastys strings and cabels seems to work just fine, have been shooting so long with them yet, but it looks good.
Many pull my bow back and are surprised its 60lbs. I have owned all those bows and the Apex7 might pull a little harder(speed bow) but far from hard to draw.bowace said:Good posts you guys. At last a good straight answer about the A7. Sage, did you order an A7 with the 30" apex cam or is that a 30" A7 cam. Is the let off with the apex cam as hard feeling as it is with the A7 cam. The 65% let off on my A7 feels like it is 50%, it just is hard to shoot compared to a switchback, outback, lx or other Mathews models. My rival pro was a 65% let off but it was a dream to shoot, kinda sorta wish I still had it. My A7 is the hardest bow to draw and shoot at 55# of any bow I have ever had and quite frankly don't enjoy shooting it because of it. So maybe the cam swap will be a good thing for me.
Dan, would you happen to know if the +1.5 inch addition is linear as you change DL? In other words would I need a 28 DL Apex cam to make it 26.5 DL on a Apex 7?Daniel Boone said:If your 28.5 draw. You need a 30" apex cam. No speed loss. strings/cables are the same.
