Hi
I’m looking to upgrade my old crusty 3 pin sight to something better like the Apex covert pro either models or the latest Axcel sight the Rheotech hd range. Has anyone got one or using one at the moment? I have seen most of the reviews on YouTube but wanted to know from anybody who has either.

My son has an apex covert. I believe it's a great sight for the money. What's really nice is the interchangeable pins. He uses the .010 for target and the .019 for hunting.
Is it equivalent to an HHA, Spot Hogg, or CBE? No, but neither is the price. He's had his for about a year and has dialed it up and down a million times and it still works as good as the day he got it. His is a fixed mount but they offer it in a dovetail version as well.

Thanks for the replies. There are a few good shops in the UK what sell most of the big brands but they are usually special order or 2-3 week delivery time which probably mean they order it from the US anyway. I’m looking at getting either of these sights I like the Axcel ones but seem drawn to the Apex single pin. On my target set up I use a Shibuya Carbon 6” arm with a shibuya scope can’t fault it. But going into field and 3D this year I want a decent high end scope.

I've been shooting the CBE Tek Hybrid Pro sight for several years and recently traded a buddy a dozen wood arrows I had from my trad days for an Apex single pin slider. A new bow I purchased in February came back from Kolorfusion recently, so I put on the Apex to see how it would compare. It is plainly second tier in materials/quality, but overall the adjustability and function of the Apex is very solid. If at some point I feel like it isn't doing the job, I have a CBE waiting to go on the bow in two minutes and then be sighted in shortly. Since you are used to the Shibuya, the Apex might be a letdown in terms of quality.....but the basic function is once again quite solid.

Your right about the quality of the Apex not seen on up close but reading reviews and YouTube I have just ordered a CBE tek hybrid. I can only go on advice and reviews and thanks for your opinion. Most of the archery stores/shops here in the UK mostly cater for the recurve market with compound following behind. That’s why hunting sights are either to order or they have no stock. But I found the CBE on good old Amazon

I have two of the apex covert pros and they have been great. Have three axis adjustability and battery life of hundreds of hours when left on. Dot is on a rheostat from dim to very bright. I never paid two hundred for mine closer to 125. mine are the old style with knob adjustment for the light, not the newer button operated ones. Some have had the knobs fall off, but I have not had any troubles with that on my two apexs or my two range rover pros.

Thanks for the advice Lucky as well as the CBE I have also ordered a Apex covert dot version. Even if I don’t use it for field or 3D it looks good enough to use for the indoor season and shooting a different style of scope and sight it might make my shooting a bit sharper.

I have two Apex Covert Pros. One with the single pin and one with the green dot. I love them both. I like the green dot one because of the open field of view. The funny thing is, when I shot me deer last season. I forgot to turn on the dot.
But the thin cross hairs was good enough. Go with what you can afford. No the Apex quality is not as good as the CBE's and other sites. But the quality cost is more the good enough to get the job done.

I bought a covert single pin once. Worst sight I ever bought. Hated the wide thick pin thing. Couldn't see the .10 fiber. The color changing gimmick was also a waste. The horizontal micro tube is also crap. And no lens capability. The vertical adjustment and bracket aren't too bad though. But like others said I'd def buy something else new or used. I ended up taking a trophy ridge sight ring and modifying it to my apex bracket.

Thanks for the advice on the single pin covert. I had originally ordered the dot version but decided to cancel it not because it’s a bad sight but I have a CBE on order and the guy at my local archery shop is getting in the new Axcel rheotech hd sight. I really want to try this sight out. I’m not rich by any means but I like to buy the higher end bows scopes and accessories as apart from American Bulldogs this is my passion. I wish we had all that great space and land you have in the US sadly bow hunting is illegal here in England (unless you get caught)

Went down to the store today to look and try the CBE TEK HYBRID SINGLE POINT sight and I must say I was impressed with it. I put it on my Stealth shot 30-40 arrows and bought it. Got i5 home fine tuned it and happy as Larry. I did look at the Apex and the Axcel models but didn’t like them much. Going out on a field shoot Sunday so hoping for good results got 2 days to settle it in.
