Hi all, I am brand new to archery and am in the process of selecting my first compound bow. I have lots of questions but the main one right now is would it be more beneficial to take lessons to learn the basics (10 lessons, each 2 hour sessions, will cost me about $550) or is archery something you can pick up with lots of practice on your own? Obviously there are a few good books out there and lots of videos that I could buy and some videos of quality on YouTube that can be referenced.
As a point of reference I have never touched a bow my entire life but I am a pretty quick learner as I usually take on new challenges regularly. I've been doing MMA for years, learn a new language every 6 months (I have only been doing that for two years so far), self taught IT, and so on. I do have a very thorough understanding of how important small details but am just unsure if the lessons are really worth the money as I am already investing about $700 for an RTS package, and a rough estimate for the cost and time spent at the closest range.
Thanks in advance everyone.
