I am new to the world of archery, but I've read a couple posts here about bad experiences with archery shop owners. I never really paid much attention to them becuase the only place I had ever dealth with the bow zone in Spring,Texas. Had some of the nicest employees and best service of any professionals I have ever dealt with. For example, after buying a 29" switchback XT from them, I came back a week later and only mentioned that I thought it might be too long for me. Without questions, they took the cam off of a 28" XT and replaced it with my 29" cam for no charge. When I wanted a Doinker carbon rod 10" a-bomb, they didn't have any in stock, so the owner sold me the one he uses off of his bow for a discounted price so that I wouldn't have to wait until the other one came in. Anyways, the point is that they have been awesome.
Well lately I have been trying to track down a G5 Meta Peep and, although I had been warned not to deal with them because the owner was a jerk, decided to call Viking Archery here in Houston to see if they had them in stock. That was a mistake. The conversation went about like this:
Them- "Viking."
Me - "Hi, do you guys carry the G5 Meta peep?"
Them - "G5 is a broadhead company."
Me - "Right, but G5 Outdoors is also now making nocks and peeps out of magnesium."
Them - "LISTEN! I've been the their damned factory and I know what they make. They're a broadhead company."
Me - "Okay, they just might not be in local stores now because their peeps are definately listed as a featured product on their website."
Them - "Don't tell me what they do and don't make! They are a broadhead company! That's ALL they make! You don't know what the hell your talking about! ."
Me - "Excuse ...."
<click> as he hung up on me mid-sentence.
Um...wow. Is this kinda service par for most archery shops?
**roll over and go back to sleep, we dont need that type of language on ArcheryTalk(joelc)**
