I have a 2008 82nd Airborne that I shoot at 73# and 29" DL. I like shooting from long distances, but I can only get out to 90 yards with a 367 grain arrow (5.02 gpp). I want to get out to 120 yards. No, I do not shoot FITA, an 82nd has no place there. I simply enjoy it. I know that it is not my sight because I use the HHA Optimizer Ultra DS-XL5519. It is great. If I turn it all the way down to shoot as far as possible, my arrow will only make it 90 yards.I am currently shooting:
CX Maxima 3D Select 350 (28" shaft only) .345 spine
4" Shield Cut Feathers LW Straight Fletch
100 grain tip
According to OT2, they are spined at the top of the green range, which is good, but Archers Advantage says that I am way under spined. I do not have either one of these programs because I have a mac. I had some guys on HN run the numbers for me. Could you guys run the numbers for me? Am I spined right?

If I am not spined correctly, I need to know what shaft to switch to that will get me out to 120 yards. What fletchings and all the other components that go into an arrow???

I was thinking that the new Trophy Taker Crush 300 would be good, but I'm not sure. Anyway, let me know what you think.

That's about as light as you can safely go, weight wise...without voiding your warranty.

If I'm understanding what you're saying, the limiting factor is the range of sight adjustment? If you run out of travel when the scope head moves to the lowest position on the dial, you may have to move the lower holes on the sight bracket...

Here are your arrow choices from AA. Heaver arrow will fly better at long range.

I am already there and if I turn the dial all the way up, that is perfectly sighted in for 20 yards. All I am saying is that with a bow that has is shooting at 335 FPS and an HHA sight with it's full effective range of adjustability, I should be able to get out to 120 yards if people shooting much less powerful bows can. This is why I am wondering if it is an arrow issue.

FOBs are great for reducing the effects of wind on arrows at long distances. I've tried them, and thought they were pretty good, but I can adjust for wind with my sight, so that is not necessary. They do not make arrows fly farther.

This is exactly what I was looking for, thank you very much.

I don't think the Trophy Ridge shafts would work because they are actually .300 and not .270 according to TR. I emailed them last week asking about them and they told me that they do not have an arrow with a .270 spine.
