Which one is better?

A piece of 3" pvc pipe with end caps. It's cheaper and way stronger than any box or arrow tube I have ever seen.

protect the vanes/fletchings

A tube does not protect the venes or fletchings. When the arrows are stored in a tube, and there is no special foam supporting the arrows and assuring the vanes/fletchings are not being bent, the vanes/fletching will come out damaged or at least bent. Then, you have arrows that will not fly properly.
On a hunting trip, having messed up vanes on your already tuned arrows, is just as bad as having something wrong on your already tuned bow.
A case that properly protects the ENTIRE arrow, and has some sort of support that keeps them all seperated, is the best way to go, IMHO.

I have a MTM arrow case that fits in my soft bow case but, I have 5 arrows tubes that I use at home for storage or when the Army moves me from place to place.
Both work great...........

regular price is $4.99 (not bad) but, I got em for like $2 a piece on sale and walked out with a half dozen.

Case for me.
Don't like the idea of the arrows bouncing around in a tube, especially with feathers.
My hard bow cases are best as the arrows sit securely in the lid retainers.
