I always measure from the shelf side cause that’s the way it is in my vice but it is not a hard number I worry about I just get it close. Doesn’t have to be spot on to shoot good.

Thanks Larry. That's kinda how I feel about it too anymore. Was just curious what the presumed right way was.

I would do it the same way each time. They will be different from side to side cause of cam lean if any is there.

Regardless of which side what you look for is max listed draw weight.

Right. I always keep my bows maxed anyways. Thanks for all the responses.

I don't get too worked up about ATA anymore. Just like to keep it no more than an 1/8 long...possibly 3/16 if it's shooting great there. I was putting new string set on last night and checking things out. Had ATA dead-on on shelf side and about 3/16 long on back (still had cam lean little too steep).

That just got me to wondering which side I need to be using.
