AX-2 29 or RX-9

Guys,
Hoping yall can help steer me in the right direction here. I am going to purchase a new Hoyt bow very soon and I am torn between these two bows. I am left handed so it is very very difficult for me to find one of these bows in the left handed configuration to test drive. I have to base my decision on a ton of feedback I get from right handed shooters.

My specs are 26 inch draw length. Will have 70 pound limbs. Gonna shoot Easton X10 parallel pro arrows through it. Also gonna run a Hoyt branded QAD Integrate MX2 and a Spot Hogg Hunter sight or maybe the Boonie if I decide to do a slider. Will be one of the two.

I am primarily a whitetail deer hunter in Virginia, so most of my hunting is done from a treestand and some in an occasional ground blind. So just packing the bow in and out is the only time I’m carrying it obviously, don’t do the western spot and stalk stuff. So, question is, knowing all of this, should I do the ax-2 29 or the RX-9?? I know both would suffice, but trying to figure out which one would best suit my needs for the style of hunting I’m doing. I don’t know that there will be an extreme difference in the draw of these two bows, but which one is smoother for those that have drew and shot both?? Also, which is deader in the hand??

As of right now, I’m slightly leaning AX-2 29. But want some opinions on this subject. Thanks for any help!!!!

Have shot both those specific bows. In your situation- as you describe it - the decision comes down to money, weight, and feel. Last two are personal preference and somewhat subjective

The cams on the bows are the exact same, so draw cycle is similar. Carbon is 1/4 pound lighter, 1” longer A-A, and 1/8” BH shorter. (Or close enough on those specs).

Here is a link to one thread discussing carbon vs aluminum; there are likely others.

I’m biased-voted for the ax-2 cause that’s what I got haha. It’s a little shorter and has a tiny bit more brace height, though I doubt that’s actually noticeable to 98% of us. Price is obviously better on the aluminum, so you could save some $$ or put that money into better accessories/arrows/strings/tags what have you.

I’m wanting the better of the two if there really is such a thing. Haha
"Better" is only something you can decide. Both bows will kill anything in North America.

I’m left handed also and know we don’t get to shoot the new offerings like the right handed folks. I have an RX8 and love it. I haven’t shot the RX9 but people who I respect their opinion have stated the draw cycle was just little stiffer than the RX8. If you have the funds I’d buy the RX9 imo.

Between those two I'd go with the AX2 and save some money. For me personally if I was to buy a new Hoyt this year it would be the RX9U because I want the little bit extra length it offers over the aluminum bows and with the new mod system there isn't the speed penalty for us short draw guys.
