Axcel scope/Hogg father sight

What would it take to mount an Axcel AV41 to my Hogg father sight? I’m currently running a UV3xl scope with Etac light and shade. Having a hell of a time seeing my pin. I have an Xfocus AD lens that I don’t want to part with-and I know the same size lens will fit in the AV41. So again, I’m just wondering how I would go about mounting an AV41 to the Hogg Father sight. Thank you in advance for helpful responses.

I don't mess with the Axcel scopes much, but they mount the same as a Shrewd Optum, and Shrewd sells a 3/8 rod for the Hogg Father.

Looks like the SH version is currently sold out.

The lens size in the 35 and 40 optum is 1.75, same as the UV3XL, so it's an option with those scopes too. Just need to purchase the housing. LENS HOUSING

Products aren't in stock @ Shrewd, however several other vendors have them in stock.

You can get a scope rod attachment for your Hogg Father. It accepts a 3/8" scope rod. Spot Hogg probably has some in stock if you call them, or you can order one from shrewd as stated above. I am assuming you have Spot Hoggs UV attachment for their QD windage system instead of a scope rod currently? If not and you are attaching it with a scope rod now, they should be interchangeable.

That’s good info, thank you. I wasn’t aware that the shrewd optum would take a 1.75 lens. How is the pin brightness on the optum??

Currently using a scope rod attachment. The Axcel/shrewd rod would be the same OD to fit the spot Hogg mount?

Pin brightness is dependent on the size of the pin, and how you perceive the color. For me, I tend to get Starburst with red, I know other guys who get it worse with green. Depending on what you are shooting, pin color can disappear on lighter colored targets. For me, I have mostly settled on a .15 pin in green, red, or blue. You can get clear, use a light to vary the color depending on the target. I don't use a light, just use the sunshade to lighten and darken the pin, and use green probably 75% of the time.

For indoor I use the .39 pin, and burnt the fiber into a bigger circle.

It looks like the scope rod you already have would work. Scope rods are ordered by diameter to fit the sight, they mostly have the same interface on the scope end, except I'm pretty certain the SH rod doesn't have a square. On a larger scope with sunshades, like the Shrewd or Axcel scopes, you will want the square end that fits into the housing to support it.

The rod diameter is the same, whether or not that will directly bolt up to the axcel housing or not I am not sure. I am not familiar with the axcel housing myself. But you should be able to get a generic 3/8" diameter scope rod that will attach to the axcel housing.

I want to thank you for the information on the shrewd Optum. I had no idea how versatile this scope was. I went ahead and ordered an Optum 40 setup
