I just got the axcel achieve cxl and it came with tapes. I've read people use computer generated tapes or use a app or something to help find the tape to use after sighting it in at two distances. Do you have to do that or can I just sight it in a two distances, 20 and 60, and pick the tape that works for it? How does everyone else sight it in and at what distance?

Put some masking tape on your sight bar
Sight in at 20 and 60,

Or 20 and whatever yardage you can shoot confidently, Make marks on the tape for each yardage
Peel the tape with marks off, Leaving the sight set at your last yardage
Match your marks to the set of tapes finding which one best matches it
Put that tape on, if your last yardage was 60, line the needle up with 60

Then shoot all your yardage’s and see if the tape matches up in between the yardage you set
If not move up or down a tape and see if it’s better

I used the number scale on the right side of the sight and the decimal points on the dials, then sighted in at 20 and out to 70 (which is about as far as I can keep a noticeable grouping.). I match the tape with the measurements, and did successfully find one that was accurate.
