For those of you shooting the AXIS 340 spined arrows....What are your bow and arrow specs? How's the arrow flight?

You can shoot those arrows with a wide variety of set ups. And most bows these days can tune to many arrow set ups. However, arrow flight is based on your bow tune for the most part.

I'm shooting [email protected], from an Obsession Phoenix XL and Prime Rival. These bows fall right on the 400/340 margin and the 340 clearly shot a fixed BH better, so that prompted my decision. My Axis are cut 28.25" with 100gr points, 3 Blazers and a 4.5" cap for a total arrow weight of 418gr. Arrow flight is as much the function of bow tuning as it is matching spine, but my 340 Axis fly well from both setups.

60 and a 70 pound nitrum turbo. 26 carbon to carbon with 50 grain brass hits. Wayyy overspined for both bows and they shoot fantastic.

Hoyt Defiant 30 71lb at 28.5”. Arrows are cut 27.75 carbon to carbon with Easton nocks, aluminum HIT inserts, 100 grain tips, with 4inch wraps and blazer vanes. Total weight 420 grains. The bow and arrows paper tuned perfectly and I shoot a whisker biscuit.

Current run is the Axis 5mm with 340s 28" C-C, running a 125gr Montec with 75gr brass insert and 3" Fusion Vanes. Zero complaints out of my Anarchy SC 60# at 27.25 DL last season. Will be chaning things up next year with the new bow, but I'll still be running Axis shafts and those inserts.

How do these shoot? According to the AA software your setup is on the weak side by a far margin. It has my current setup slightly weak and is shooting good to 20yards, haven't been able to shoot longer distances.

I have shot 340 Axis out of every bow I've owned since they came out. Shot them at 28" c to c out of a 30" 70lb Omen Pro with 125 grn heads and they shot great. Currently shooting 29" c to c with 100 grn heads out of a 30" 70lb E35 with great results. Excellent arrows!

Axis 340's full length, 50 gr insert, 150 gr BH in an ILF recurve- Morrison 17" riser with WW Inno limbs at 30" DL, 54#-



probably not what you were looking for Eh? grin

Rule of thumb with a compound and BH's............NEVER be underspined or close to it

I shoot the Axis 300's in my compound, shorter arrow with less weight up front

Hoyt Nitrum 34 and Turbo both at 63lbs, 29" actual draw board length. Arrows are 29" C-C, HIT inserts and 100gr points and Easton nocks. 438gr total weight, both bows group excellent out to 100yds shooting 269fps and 283fps. Also shoot them through a Mathews Drenalin 65lbs, 29"DL at 261fps and they shoot the same. A good variety of bows and they still shoot awesome.

that is a wide variety of bows you have the 340's flying from.....
