bought a new bow and wanting to put a back stabilizer on it. is it worth spending $100 or do the $50 ones work just as good?

The more money you spend on a bow and accessories, the better it will shoot LOL. I would find some used stuff that accepts weights and experiment with the weights, because it might take a few tries to get it right.

I tried several different back bar mounts. One thing I found is that some of them that hang out from the mounting hole tend to come lose over time when you have all lot of weight at the end of your back bar stabilizer. I went through three sets of mounting bars from Bee stinger to Shrewd. I ended up with Shrewd Atlas single V-bar mount and it has been working great. The mount rest against the riser and holds well. Also it is very easy to adjust. Take a look at the mount from Shrewd "Atlas single V-bar". There is also a Mathews version. It may be on the high side of cost (around $100) but after going through three others I could of purchased two of them. Also I liked it so much I purchased another for my indoor bow.

Depends on how much weight you plan on using.

If you are only using 5 oz or less any of them will work. If you plan on using over 5 oz I would get a good one. A must have for me is that it has both vertical and horizontal adjustment.

Shrewed Atlas and Bowfinger are the best mounts imo. The Shrewed single adjustable V bar mount is a good one that can be found for 55-$60.

I also have a Bowfinger qd on front of my indoor bow the Bowfinger ultimate back bar mount and it’s amazing. Well worth the money. I’ve tried some cheaper ones in the past, and for short bars with less weight, they did ok, but if you want the looks , quality and strength, the Shrewd, Bowfinger, dead center are expensive, but worth every penny.

I'm glad that Bowtech put holes on the side of the riser at the bottom on the Reckoning. I just bolted the side from a cheap V-bar mount to the Orbit dampener and voila: sidebar mount that can't come loose!
