Has anyone in this forum ever been backpack bowhunting? Camping out in the bush until you shoot a buck? If so, can you please help me with my choices and decisions in what i need to pack? Thanks

I did a spike camp overnight last year and next year will do a multi day hunt, I'm following this thread to learn with you.
But this may help, GoHunt online seems to be an amazing resource for questions like yours, so is EXOmountain packs and other manufacturers and hunter support websites. I'm new to go hunt, but it's been very helpful in a shot time.
I hunt the back country every year for elk. It’s basically the only type of hunting I do anymore.
Top Necessities would be:
Sleeping bag
Tent
Toilet paper
Garmin Inreach
First aid including tourniquet
Knives
Knife sharpener
Game bags
Extra socks
Water purifier
Freeze dried food
Snacks/dried fruit/nuts/jerky
Benadryl
Tylenol
Rope
Lighter
Emergency blanket
Toothbrush/toothpaste
Deodorant
Soap
Lightweight rain gear
Extra layers depending on temp
The best advice that was given to me about this was get comfortable with the backpacking part first. Then add in the hunting. Camping season is much longer than hunting season. Go out a few nights a month in different weather conditions and learn what you like when you don’t have a hunt on the line.
Exactly. And know how to use/deploy every piece of your kit properly, and every piece of gear has a use, either daily, or in an emergency. This will also be the time to decide that the Starlink you packed just isnt worth the effort to ask AT "Would You Shoot This Buck"?
There's "Gear Dumps/lists" all over YT and the internet. Yours may vary.
Food
Water/water purifucation
Shelter
Fire
Comms &
SAR should be at the top of your list.
i need to get a job somewhere. i have my boots, really good, steel caps, the pack i want is $140-150, we have all the gear, but if i get a job i can get brand new gear. First on the list is a Bear Legit Maxx in fred bear.
Here is 250 miles on the Jmt from 9k to 14, 505 over 22 days. 50,000 vertical feet of climbing. No bow or hunting. Set up base camp and day hike/ hunt is fun. Backpack hunting and moving everyday is work and can be deadly for a novice. 50 liter pack is plenty.7
Dont forget game bags and a roll up sled to move your kill.
