Tried baiting with apples that fell off the tree many years ago. Deer ate the bait but 100% of the activity was at night. Not worth the effort IMO.
Baiting deer is legal in my area except for salt blocks. I have thrown out corn many years, and a couple years back decided it was a waste of money other than keeping the deers bellies full. They tend to show up at 3 am, and I have never seen a respectable buck at a cornpile. Theres no need to get all bent out of shape about baiting because its really not productive anyway.
Oh, I voted for baiting because its legal here, I have done it, and I think if you want to do it, it is your right to do so. I dont see anything wrong with it. I still might throw a little out in my backyard in hopes of showing my daughter a deer. But I wont be hunting them there.

Deer Baiting Fulls The Freezer Almost Every Year For Me, It Doesn't Pull Any Big Bucks In But It Makes Taking Does A Lot Easier. Gives Me More Time To Chase The Big Boys. Not Many Farm Fields Where I Hunt.
