I have a distant relative in Cumberland that has offered for me to come up and hunt. He is 74 and doesnt hunt anymore, but has lots of friends and relatives with property. I know nothing about this area and I am looking for someone to share what they know. I cant seem to find the DNR website or any information on hunting dates and regulations. I also need to know what the weather is like during the beginning of hunting seasons. I am from Florida and I dont do well below 30 degrees:confused: Is it typically that cold in October or November? Thanks for any information you can share.

Barron County information

Hi. I live about 40 minutes east of Cumberland. If you need any information let me know. I pretty much hunt everything except bear and would be more than willing to help you get what you need to get going up here. If you need information on licenses and dates and fees, do a search for Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and you will go to their web page which is pretty comprehensive. If you have trouble finding the information you need I visit the site quite often and can probably help you. I can also pick up some regulation pamphlets and send them to you. Let me know how I can help, anytime I can help get someone else in the woods, I am all over it.

Well, I live in MN but the weather is pretty much the same here. Early season is typically hot. Late Oct/early Nov is typically in the 30s and 40s. Last year sucked, it was very hot during this part of the season and deer were not moving a lot. The colder the better as far as I am concerned as far as rut hunting goes (within reason of course, nobody likes hunting in 0 degree weather).

Season starts on Sept 16 this year I believe, Wisconsin I think runs until January 3rd or so.

Regulations are usually out around the early part of August.

Thank you

Thanks, I will be in touch kghops. I am being told to come spend time some time with my family or I wont be taking any trips, so I will be on later or tomorrow at the latest to send you my address. John Lillie is my wifes grandmothers sister, and a super guy so far. He is just not able to get out in the woods any more but he wants to make sure I schedule some time to fish with him while I am there.
She is threatening me again...I had better get going.

Plenty to go around.

My friend and I have been going out glassing for bucks right around dusk and we are seeing some monsters. Barron county has its share of big bucks we're not quite Buffalo county though. Good luck getting some brown down. :darkbeer:
