Bear agenda 6 vs motive 6?

Does one perform better than the other or are they basically the same bow? I've read about some agenda problems in recent threads but haven't seen ant motive ones. Also wondering if 720 dollars for either is a good deal? Thanks

They are similar bows for sure but the Agenda draws a little easier because of the hinge guard. Both shoot great and if you get a bow with the updated cams, you shouldn't have a problem.

I'd say $720 for the Agenda is a pretty good deal but in half a month the price on the Motives will likely drop because they usually release the new models around the beginning of October.

They may go lower than that but I'm not sure how things go in Canada. Here in the states you can see discontinued models drop $300 or more depending on the demand for them.

Man I really like the way my agenda shoots. I only shot the motive a few times at bass pro and really dug it. I came across an agenda here in the classys for a great great price and couldn't turn it down. I've been very happy with mine. Great shooting bow and the quality is as good as the Mathews and Hoyt's I've owned

I bought a motive because I didn't care for the hinged guard. Not for a hunting bow, I want sturdy and reliable. I also wasn't crazy.about the riser changes also, how bear widened it up by the limb pockets. I prefer the more slim look. I have the updated cams and have zero problems so far. Great bow. Tuned easy for me and shoots fast.

I had a motive 6 during last hunting season. Loved the bow n speed but I had horrible quality issues with mine. Had the old style cams and my string loop broke from the top cam and I went through 3 sets of limbs from the finish flaking off. Bear took care of it but it was always at the bow shop. Went back to mathews. I like the looks of the motive way better than the agendas.

I've shot a lot of new bows, multiple times, while waffling and agonizing about a new hunting bow. $800 or $900 is a ton of money at my house ... I gotta choose wisely because I'll be stuck with it for many years. The DNA was smooth but a little stiff at 29/65 and zero valley. The DNA SP was very smooth at 29/65 and with a decent valley without being too long (I like a shorter valley, I'm used to it and more accurate with it) and I just stacked arrows with it the first time I touched one. Same feel for the Premonition, though I'd swear the DNA SP was an easier draw at the same weight. Loved the feel of the E32, but the long valley had me screwed up. The Primes, Hoyts, and Mathews are excellent bows but weren't really for me. And I want as much speed as possible this time around.

But the lowly Bear Agenda 6 - that is rarely mentioned in the same threads as the Obsessions and hot PSEs - was very, very smooth at 26/65 and felt less than the 65 lbs it was set to (and I watched him on the scales with it). And for me, it was the one of the most accurate bow I've shot thus far with just a WB and no peep. Seemed to aim great without one, somehow. I dunno. The Bear Motive 6 felt great to me but the Agenda was, to me, noticeably smoother and easier at the same weight. For someone else the feel of the Motive might be more their cup o' tea. But I just fell in love with the Agenda. Unless the Obsession Sniper totally blows me away I'll end up with an Agenda 6 or DNA SP. Totally loved the Agenda.

You gotta shoot them all though. You might feel the Motive 7 is the best thing since sliced bread or fall in love with the Hoyt Faktor. Who knows. All the bows out now are excellent. Just gotta find the one that fits your criteria (speed, ATA, weight, etc.) and makes YOU smile the first time you shoot it.

I think I've read that here before. Just curious ... can the cable guard on the Agenda be changed to the older style? I realize it might take someone like you or John to do it, that it might not be simple. But is it possible?

Changing out the cable guard probably would be pointless. That's probably why the agenda felt smoother was the cable guard. The cams are exactly the same. Being that you have a shorter draw length I would stay with the 6" brace. That extra inch will help a short draw archer more so than a 30" draw.
