Bear Crack Question

I found the formula to make "Bear Crack" and was wondering if you actually cook the Crack at your bait or cook it at the truck and carry it in. Does the smell of cooking it attract bears or just being at the bait. Any help would be appreciated. Has anyone used it in Idaho?

Thanks

You burn it at your bait site. It produces a thick smoke that carries real far and smells delicious to bears. Pour the molten goo on a log or tree and it will act as a sweet candy lick. Many hunters have used this in Idaho and other places.

Thanks for the answers. I ran hounds for years but this is the first year for baiting.

Has anyone ever used this? I always hear people saying they heard it works great but never heard of anyone that has first hand knowledge. I don't want to go out cooking that muck to find out it works as well as the deerview mirror.

fill a pot half full of marshmellows, add a pound of sugar, quart of syrup, and a pack of powder jello(any flavor). Bring to a boil for five minutes and pour onto barrel or logs. I first saw it on Eatmans Hunting Journal show and looked it up on the internet.

I have arrested a ton of people with real crack on them...I wonder if you could get a bear addicted to that?
