Has anyone had the opportunity to see/hold/shoot the new Bear Royale? I was originally leaning toward a Mission Radik for my son, but am wondering if the bear is a better option.

I was just looking at this bow for my 10yr old. He is slight of frame and weight is a big factor. Specs say 2.7lbs bare weight and 3.3lbs w/included accessories. My bow with accessories is 5.3lbs. To be expected, he can’t hold it out. But will 2lbs less be enough? Dunno. The Cruzer Lite bows received good reviews so hopefully this is as good or a step up. But yes, not much info out there on them.

Yes, I am also looking at this bow for my son, who is 8 years old, about turn 9 years old. He also has issues with holding a heavier bow up. I called Bear archery this morning and confirmed that this bow replaces the Cruzer Lite. They also talked about how it is lighter and can be used with or without a release.

Anyone else have any input?

I just bought one for my wife a few weeks ago. Pretty impressed for the price. It is extremely light.

A few things to mention though...the quiver sits extremely far away from the riser, which is irritating...to the point at which I got a offset stabilizer to compensate. The quiver's grippers are also very stiff.

The whisker biscuit mounting bracket is plastic and compresses under the bolt head, which makes small, accurate adjustments difficult. Those are all accessory issues though - if I could buy a bare bow, I would.

The only issue I have with the bow itself is that the cables catch on the edges of the tracks of the module tracks and makes a click sound around the "back wall." Very annoying and noticeable. Maybe I need to adjust cam lean or something, but I feel like this shouldn't be the case on a brand new bow. Also, the owners manual must've been repurposed from another bow as it says there should be 3 difference sets of modules, when Bear says the included set is the only one and that the manual is wrong.

Other than that, it has a huge range of adjustability and an almost unbelievable mass weight. The wife is pretty happy with it so far. We were originally interested in the Mission Hammr, but the Royale is so light (wife's #1 concern), I think we made the right choice and I would do it again...that said, if they offered a bare bow option, I would be all over it.

2024- just got one for the boy and he is pulling about 30lbs back and 22” draw. Very light and adjustable. Cons - plastic mods, mod screw backed out they replaced it fast. Use blue lock tight. String /cable touch at the bottom cam when at full draw. Timing in the cable twist for cam lean to stop the clicking sound and string almost not going in mod track at full draw “. Again all tune adjustments by twisted cables one side or the other. But I notice when we change draw or weight the cams need tuned again to hit at the same time. Over all great youth bow just wish it was better tuned and look at before the sold. Cheep string? Not enough twist? Who knows.
