Hey all
I’m a total newbie. Hubby has been shooting for a long time though. We are going to get a bow for me and have narrowed it down to the Diamond Infinite Edge or Bear Cruzer g2. I’m a lefty if that matters. Do y’all have any experience with these bows? Any preferences? Thanks
Jenny

Bear compound bows have always seemed lower end quality to me. Just my opinion, save your venom bear lovers. Diamond is a low end bowtech. If those are my choices, I would get diamond every time.

That being said, you can get awesome leftover top of the line bows cheap. I picked up a 2015 LO pse premonition for $350 and a 2015 bowtech carbon overdrive for $500. Both new with tags.

I have no experience with any bear bows, but have set up infinite edge bows for several people and have always been able to get them shooting well.
Lots of adjustability, very easy to adjust and tweak to get them shooting pretty great.
They won’t feel or perform like a real high end bow built for a smaller more specific range, but they work great for what they are.
With practice you can shoot lights out with them and they hold up well.

The diamond may hold its resale value just a little better due to a larger experience pool and reputation with them.
There is one in particular that I have owned 3 times.
I sell it cheap to someone wanting to get started and set it up just for them. I always give them the stipulation that if they want to upgrade in a year or so that I will buy that one back for $200.
All have loved it, all really enjoyed shooting and all have upgraded within a year or two.
Hard to go wrong with that one.

My wife had the diamonds razors edge, and then gave it to my daughter when she outgrew her diamond atomic. I think the Razors edge is very similar to the infinite edge. Its just not quite as adjustable. I shot her razors edge for awhile a couple summers ago just to see what I could do with it. It felt really good for me at 27 inch draw length and 60 pounds. The razors edge peaks at 29", and 60. So everything is closer to peak, but I could keep amazing groups with it. I also shot a robin hood with it. They are very capable bows, and easily adjustable. Like stated the bears seem of lower quality. I would pick the diamond. For a slight step up. You could also get the diamond edge sb1, or edge 320, or maybe even a bowtech convergence.

I've owned both bear and diamond bows and I think they are both pretty solid choices. I still have a SB-1 and that bow shoots pretty good and is super adjustable. Bear customer service is very good if you ever need to use it. No experience with diamond/bowtech. If you can I would shoot both and see which feels more comfortable to you. Good luck.

I started off with a Diamond Infinite Edge years ago, I have always believed that that it was a great starter bow to learn on and perfect your shooting form. Once you have improved on your shooting and figured out what you like and don't like in and a bow you can always sell it and buy and higher end bow.

I started with a Diamond Infinite Edge. It was the perfect bow for me to start with for all the reasons stated above. It was very adjustable for my beginner skills. I am now shooting an Avail but I am glad I started with the Diamond. I would shoot it again if the Avail wasn't available to me. The only thing I would do different is I would upgrade the factory rest a lot sooner than I did.

Don't know much about the bear but I bought my wife an infinite edge a few years back (shes also a lefty) and it's a great bow. The nice part is you can start on a low poundage to learn proper form and even just learn what muscles to use to shoot with but then you can increase the weight as you get stronger and lock down your form. If I recall correctly I started her out at about 30lbs and after about a year she was up to 48lbs. Which if I bought her a used high end bow to start I couldn't have adjusted it that much for her.

Bought Diamond Infinite Edge bows for both my dad and my wife. Both were new to archery. It was great being able to start at a low draw weight and adjust heavier as they improved their form and grew stronger. In my opinion its a great bow to learn with.

See if your shop has rental compounds and if so take a lesson or two to learn some form then shoot different bows to see what works and fits best for you. If not see if there is another shop close that is more of a school. It’s really important to be comfortable with your equipment and start out right don’t just buy a bow that kinda fits. Next big choice will be what kind of release to shoot, another option that can be explored through some lessons on rented equipment.

Find a bowtech heartbreaker you will like it . better bow than the ones you listed . And bear went thru a few bad years but they make good bows . Welcome to a.t.
