I shoot a metal lizard tongue on my Prime (28 in draw length and 50#) and I struggle with drawing the bow without my arrows falling off. I'm considering drop-away.
Best Arrow Rest for Compound Bows: What's Your Favorite and Why?

Hamskea Hybrid Hunter or Target. I use the hunter version on my 3D bow and the target version on my indoor bow. Buy new and they will last you a long time with no issues.
Vaportrail Limbdriver. Been shooting it for 15+ years, zero issues. I even had a slow motion video of me (close up on the rest action) and it's timing is perfect; drops after 2/3s of the arrow.
My favorite rest is anything from Hamskea regardless of target or hunting. I have them on all of my 3D bows...
I do have a QAD on my hunting bow because I wanted to see what the fuss was about with the integrated mounting system. I've had great luck with QAD over the years. I'll keep it until there is a reason to change.
I have an Influence from Bodoodle on my spot bow currently. As a dealer who ordered a bunch of these rests, I needed to set one up to experiment so I could provide accurate feedback when my customers asked about them.... I experimented with my own stuff to better serve my customers. It works great and I've got at least 5k shots through it.
I've never been a fan of a blade/lizard tongue style rest. I know folks like them but I prefer a drop away.
I have 3 bows with VT Limb drivers of some sort and two with Hamskeas. I lean towards favoring the VT’s due to ease of set up, and a bit more quiet. I’ve never had either fail or give me enough issues to not use again.
I've never had an issue with VT rests. Set up has always been easy and they last forever. I like to test a lot of new things out. I've been able to change the few I have over to other bows quickly and always the same result. No reason for me to change.
20 Year ago I was using a BoDoodle Bullet Rest and the Arrow at Times would Fall Off. At that time the Carolina Archery Products Whisker Biscuot Deleuxe came out! It has been My Rest since they Offered It and It does the Job and never had any issues uisng it But I am a Bow Hunter. Simple and Easy to Set Up and Does all I Need but most here will say otherwise. yet It was a very popular never needed a rest that has to Move to get good Arrow Flught or Arrows to Group. But I am one that Likes to Keep it Simple or as I refer to it the Kiss Factor. I take several Deer using the Deluxe WB and Never Yet had an issue with the arrow Falling Off. But Like most Things in Archery It is a Personal Choice what each Archer Likes and Uses. I know now that I am in the Minority but so many stories of getting a Drop Away Set Up and Working and some have had failures. So To Each Their Own!
Good Luck!

Hamskea. I have and epsilon on my hunting bow and a trinity pro on my target bow. Both super easy to set up and are bullet proof. I used qad’s prior and never had a problem once they were set up and timed. The limb driven are just easier to set up.
I have used so many over the years, I liked nearly all of them, except a couple........that being said, I have 2 trophy taker drop aways, 1 on my vista 33, and 1 on my primal.........and an impact archery glyder that is no longer made on my DNA.........and I wouldn't trade that one for anything else
I have used several and have never had a problem. Rip Cord, HHA Virtus, And have a Hamskea hunter pro micro and a QAD HDX, setting waiting to be installed.
I've had good luck with Hamskea and VT. Both are easy to set up(the VT is the easier of the two) and practically bomb proof. Used a Rip Cord Code Red for years but lost faith in them when it started to occasionally lock up for no reason, plus I always had fletching contact with that rest.
When I first started out the NAP Quicktune series was my preferred rest and I also tried a Whicker Bisquit for a couple years.
So I guess you are talking about target shooting then? IMHO if you are struggling to draw with a Lizards tongue rest then you have a bad draw cycle or nock pinch or both. You can sweep it under the rug with a new rest for sure or work on a smoother draw.
A smoother draw is better especially if you hunt too.
Always ran a QAD on my hunting rigs but after seeing many positive reviews of the Vaportrails decided to give it a shot on my new lift 33. As others have stated setup is a breeze and it's been a treat to shoot with so far.
