They are not the highest quality but if that's your only choice then best would be to talk to some local hunters that have one
and see what their experience has been with which model

also if you can travel to neighbour countries and see what's available would be a good idea

Tom I agree on shipping an Excalibur to Bosnia but I wonder what the import tariff would be since its not in country already. If its not too horrendous on the import tax...the that would my recommendation too.

 

I like Barnette,they are an old line company. I have aJaguar,and I too am new to xbows, The one I bought is vrey accurate and easy to use. You won't go wrong IMHO

 

barnett has some decent models, if i were buying a barnett, i would ONLY BUY THE Barnett BCX buck commander, it has proven to be the work horse of the barnett line, and the best value....ive held it in my hands was very impressed

 

As far as Barnetts go.....I like the Raptor, BCX, Ghost 385. I would think any of those should work just fine for a beginner on up.

 

yes i have the raptor myself, i havnt hunted with it, i bought it last month for a backup to my solution ls that never got to the woods lol, its a good bow, ill be hunting with it this weekend, fits extremely well in the hands, and very compact

 

I agree with Moon, if you get a recurve for a starter, you won't need a backup, plus you will have a bow that will work for you for a lifetime, nat just a few years!! Plus if you can make, or get strings made, it's the only parts, or wear items you will ever need, can't say that about a compound!! Get a matrix or micro, then you will have a solid bow to start with, and an excellent bow to build an arsenal on!! JMHO

 

Thank you guys you really helped.I will look in neighbour countries since in Bosnia hunting with bows and crossbows is not so popular.I wanted to get crossbow from excalibur but I would have to pay 50 % of crossbow price for taxes and it's really expencive ,anyways thanks again for you time and help.
