Planning on doing some late winter hunting this year for whitetail. Any recommendations on a pair of quality bibs that won’t break the bank but does a good job at keeping you warm? Thanks in advance!

heated vest will go a long way in keeping you warm, I bought one off of Amazon for 100 bucks, not sure of the brand, but it along with an electric hand-warmer I stay warm....

Are the FL Sanctuary bibs better than the FL Solitude bibs? In Ohio and also VA a few times a year hunting with my father. I like idea of the Solitudes because I can easily just wear my 250g merino base with some Cabelas midweight polyester over that and then the bibs to keep warm around the 20°F mark.

I heard the Solitudes do nothing for the wind though.

If the Sanctuarys are better for wind, would it be best to just wear those with just the merino base since the Sanctuary is more insulated?

I worry more about what goes under the bibs. I got a pair from Cablea's their brand for my hunts up north. They are pretty heavy but I use the base layers to groom them for the temps of that day. Light weight thermals, med weight and heavy weight........depending on the temps.

Got rid of my Sitka Fanatic set. Kept me warm, but felt like the little kid on Christmas Story. Bulky as heck.
Ordered a pair of Rivers West Ambush bibs. Hopefully be here next week as the temps drop.
Icebreaker boot blankets save my feet. Watch your feet when you’re on the stand, they can be and little awkward.
Seems like if it’s warm, it’s bulky and a pain to carry to the stand. Son got me a heated vest last year that I’m looking forward to using with the new bibs.

I picked up some Columbia Gallatin range bibs years ago for cheap and they are my go to when it gets really cold which it does in MN where I live. They are wool and I usually pack them in and put them on at the stand.

another option i enjoyed this year;

wear thinner than you'll need bibs in (like jean weight camo bib overalls with a base layer under them) and then in your stand put on a pair of down pants with full length side zips over top of the bibs (so no nakey in tree)

i bit the bullet and bought the thickest down pants from kuiu

you don't sweat going in and have the advantage of bibs as far as drafts

I just bought Sitka Fanatic bibs and jacket. So far I am really impressed. I have always bought Walmart cheap camo. I can’t explain how much better these are. Should have done it sooner.

Believe or not these Natural gear work well. I put them on at the stand. They are kind of baggy but very warm. Had them for years. You can get them direct or Midway USA. Do a google search.
