Best decent target bow for woman?

What are some opinions on the best target bow for my woman? Right now she's shooting a Bowtech Fuel which has a killer valley and backwall with crazy let off that I'm sure she's spoiled with. I'd like to get her something for spot shooting that might help her so thinking maybe longer ATA preferable light weight so we can put heavier stabs and stuff on. But it's gonna have to have an amazing valley and wall with what feels like a lot of let off or she'll probly hate it. Can't be jumpy at all. Speed is no concern. Mathews Jewels are nice but a few ladies there already have them so something different and hopefully better would be nice. Any suggestions???

following thread,

I'm still debating about which bow for my son he is on the short side (26-26.5 inch draw 50ish dw)
Leaning toward PSE Shootdown, Perform X 3D, or Halon comp at moment.
It will be a couple weeks before we can buy one.
So I look forward to watching the responses of your thread

What draw length? What draw weight? Overall strength of the archer? The gender of the archer does not necessarily matter! Most women that shoot better spot and 3D scores are not shooting ultra light mass weight and holding weight.

The PSE PerformX 3D can be set up as short as 25" and maybe a bit less. Can be 90% letoff though for a spot bow that is typically much less than ideal. It's too easy too soften up with little holidng weight. Trying to hold a bow real steady wtih as little 4 lbs of holding is difficult UNLESS 4 lbs is not light for the archer. The PerformX 3d is NOT a light mass weight bow but like I stated previously ultralight is very often NOT a good thing for target bow to be. This Performx 3D is actually quite quick at my nubby 26" draw length.

I strongly suggest only considering bows that can go down at least .5" below the archers draw length if at all possible.

If an archer (male, female, young or old) is new to spots and 3D (target archery) they often end up using a bit more stabilizer weight AND holding weight after they've been working at the game for a while. If the archer is shooting 40 lbs they will be holding 8 lbs with an 80% letoff bow.

I'm an old fart and my target bows typically have about 15 - 20 lbs of holding weight.

If she has draw length of 26" or shorter a 32"-33" a-to-a bow isn't too short to be a target bow.

The PSE Phenom SD is a fantastic shorter draw affordable target bow. I won more than a few checks with a Phenom.

+1 for the BowTech Fanatic... The 3.0 SD has a 24"-29" draw, 65% or 80% let off, optional draw stops for custom backwall feel, and powershift flip disc for custom draw cycle.

Getting ready to put up for sale a 2017 50# in purple, PM for ore info.

[Always hate when people post "buy my bow..." Now I hate myself I guess]

Paige Gore is shooting the BT fanatic 3.0 SD really well. Linda Ochoa Anderson just won recently with her Hoyt Prevail. These women are fairly small in stature and are killing it with these longer bows. I would say make sure the bow feels comfortable to the shooter. Cheaper is not always better. Buy it once unless the shooter isn’t that interested in shooting. I’ve bought my wife 3 different bows because I wanted her to shoot. She really had no interest.

I'm a 5 5 female with a 26 inch draw. I shoot a PSE Shootdown at 40 lbs. I love it. Very smooth, nice valley, good back wall, just sits in the hand really nice. There are also different mod available to change the let off. It is really difficult for me to find a bow that does not cause me discomfort (joint issues) and this bow is awesome. I find myself being able to shoot better, shoot more arrows and not hurt later. Works for me.

I wouldn't overlook finding a used chill X. The Chill x bows shoot great, are very light, and pretty fast if your thinking about 3D. You can set it up with 3 different kinds of mods(85%, 80%, and 75% setoff) allowing you to set up the bow to how the shooter want the valley to feel.
Chill X
ATA: 35"
Brace: 7"
IBO: 336fps
Draw Length Range: 25-31"

Definitely don’t overlook some of the good bows out there, just because they aren’t advertised as a target bow. I’m 5’4” with a 26.5” draw, and like a 33”-35” ATA. My 3D bow for the last 3 years was a ChillR, and I did very well with it. I used it in our indoor league last fall, and won the open class. It was set up with hunting length bars... This year I’m shooting a Bowtech Reign 6. Again, not a target bow per se, but it fits me, it’s balanced, and I’ve shot my highest indoor scores to date with it. If your wife finds a target bow she likes, that’s great, but encourage her to try others, as well.

No such thing as a good woman's target bow. There are a ton of good target bows that fit in a woman's hands just the same as a man's. All the top bow manufacturers make good target bows but as said, just because they are labeled "target" bows don't mean much. Take her and let her see what feels good to her. Typically your looking for a longer axle to axle length, Higher brace height, mild smooth cam. Good luck in your search.
